<title>"Mama's got a brand new toy" by Michael Day</title>
      <description>Hi,

I am in Athens, GA and I just got an Ultimate 14.5 myself. You say the sit-on-tops are "virtually unsinkable". I haven't tried this yet, but I imagine the Ultimate would act more like a canoe if swamped, even with its bow and stern foam flotation. It might float just at the surface of the water, but I don't think it would be "paddle-able" after a capsize for example. That's really my only worry, particularly when I have one of my kids in the front seat. I imagine you could empty the Ultimate if you were paddling with another kayak (like you have been) or canoe and performed a "T-rescue". That being said, I love my Ultimate; it is perfect for my family and me and is perfectly suited to the kind of paddling we will be doing. I have not tried standing in it at this point :) Have fun and enjoy!
