Stuffed Lovies for the Kiddos

Because I just can't stop sewing stuffed animals for my kids: Introducing Wiggles the Bunny and Bubbles the Cat.

These are from a pattern I purchased from Wee Wonderfuls. I believe she's all sold out of this pattern, but there will be different patterns available in the future.

I even knitted up a couple of sweaters for our newest friends - my first sweaters ever!

I have a week-long "vacation" of sorts coming up next week, and I'm planning to knock out at least one cardigan sweater for my girls. After that, I have to knit up a surprise beaded wedding purse for my sister, some scarves for Christmas presents, and a sweater for my husband.

Who knows? One of these days, I might get around to making something for myself!

Crunchy Whole Grain Bread

Posted by Som Wed, 19 Jul 2006 02:13:00 GMT

Behold! My first successful attempt at baking a yeast bread:

This one has all sorts of goodies in the dough: whole wheat flour, rye flour, oat bran, wheat germ, pumpkin seeds, and sunflour seeds. It's quite the hearty loaf, and everyone enjoyed it (warm, with butter.)

Now I'm expected to bake more often. Next time: cherry pie, sweetened with honey, with a whole grain crust. Whether I can accomplish a serviceable lattice top crust remains to be seen.
